Naturally Beautiful

April 5, 2011

I received a little bit of spending money for my birthday (which kind of makes me feel like a 13 year old), and I decided to spend some of it yesterday.

There a lots of cute spring dresses out right now, but since I didn’t get invited to the royal wedding, I decided to spend my dollars on beauty products.

Something about buying cosmetics and beauty products makes me so happy to be a girl.  I just loving being a girl.  Of course, I don’t know any different, but still… Being a girl is fun (for most of the month anyway).

Ulta sent me a coupon for 20% off my entire purchase, and this marketing technique was enough to lure me into the store.  I like shopping there because they carry 100% Pure, Burt’s Bees, and Tarte Cosmetics (which are all natural brands in line with The Toss the Junk Project).

My stash includes:

  • 100% Pure Vanilla Bean Nourishing Cream
  • Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer in Rhubarb
  • Burt’s Bees Peach and Willowbark Deep Pore Scrub
  • Tarte Cosmetics Travel Kit (including cheek stain, lip polish, makeup brush, eyeliner, powder, and mascara)

All of these products have proven to be wonderful so far.  The body cream feels so indulgent.  It contains cocoa butter and avocado butter, so it’s no wonder that it is so silky.  The facial scrub made me feel invigorated and the lip polishes are so smooth.

Maybe it is my imagination, but natural products make me feel better. My skin seems to be thanking me today for not lathering it up with chemicals and gunk.

Are you a fan of more natural cosmetics and beauty products?  If so, which brands are your favorites?

I’m really excited to experiment with more brands and to play a little bit more with my new purchases (possibly while wearing a tiara and singing, “I Feel Pretty” to myself).

Have a great day!

I love beauty products and my favorite place to buy them is Sephora. But, I recently became a fan of Ulta too…like I need one more place to develop a shopping problem. 😉

OMG. Sephora is like heaven. When I go in there, I have no idea where to look first! Sounds like we’d be trouble in there together. 🙂

I have been trying to by more natural products lately too, sometimes it is hard for me to go ‘all natural’ though because I have found that some natural products just don’t perform as well as the ones with chemicals and sometimes I can’t find anything that performs to even a tolerable level so then I try to find products that maybe aren’t all natural but have LESS chemicals so at least its something lol. I really love both Tarte and 100% Pure. Have you tried Tarte’s amazonian clay blushes? They are awesome! Better than a lot of regular brands too. I just did a review on my 100% Pure skincare I have been using and I will be reviewing my other 100% products soon too. I love that brand, everything smells so wonderful. My favorite thing so far is the lip glazes they are gorgeous and give way more color than i would have thought. Just like any other lipstick but healthier.

I haven’t tried Tarte’s clay blushes, but the kit came with the clay powder and I love it! I’ll have to try the blush next. Thanks for the tip! 100% Pure is amazing. Some of the products smell good enough to eat! I’ll also have to try the lip glazes. Did you know that QVC sells 100% Pure? You can get kits on easy pay which is awesome! 🙂
