Ultimate Hunger Buster
Even though we had a party for him already, today is my dad’s real birthday. To celebrate, we’re going out for brunch later this morning. This means, there will be about a 3.5 hour gap between when I woke up this morning and when I meet him and my mom at Big View Diner. During this stretch of time, I am expected to wait to eat breakfast.
This cannot happen people.
You do not want to see me or know me if I am not fed for such a long stretch of time. When my eyes pop open in the morning, my body automatically expects to be fed within an hour.
To hold me over from near-starvation, I decided to make a smoothie inspired by one featured in the new issue of Health magazine. The headline of the article is Ultimate Hunger Buster. Perfect! I actually tweaked the heck out of it, and my first attempt was far too watery. After making some additional changes, I got it just right.
Coffee Strawberry-Banana Smoothie
Place 1 sliced peeled banana, 3 strawberries, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup cold coffee (I used Dunkin Donuts Strawberry Shortcake), stevia (to taste), 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, and 2 ice cubes in a blender. Blend until smooth and enjoy!
Be sure to check out my guest post on packing healthy snacks for the office over at Clean Eating Chelsey!
I’m going to finish happily sipping my smoothie until it’s time to eat some grub.
See ya later today! 🙂
