Forks, knives, spoons…and necklaces
Well, I’m stuck inside again today due to the fact that I can ice skate on my driveway.
I was secretly kind of happy though because I got to make Carrot Cake Oatmeal for the second morning in a row. I tweaked the recipe slightly by adding some cinnamon (which I apparently feel the need to add to everything that I make), eliminated the nuts, and added some raisins. So yummy!!!
Oatmeal is the perfect breakfast on a winter morning. Healthy and delicious? You can’t beat that combo!
On to another obsession of mine… jewelry. I love collecting unique handmade pieces. I also have a weak spot for J. Crew jewelry (or J. Crew anything), but it costs a small fortune most of the time.
Well, I noticed that my jewelry box was getting a little out of hand a few weeks ago. This actually became quite a problem. You see, I get up and ready for work about an hour earlier than my husband Michael, and I often navigate through our bedroom in the dark with nothing but the glow of my iPhone to guide me and light the way through my messy jewelry box.
I figured that I had two options. I could install a flashlight app on my phone or I could get organized.
I decided to organize.
Yep. That is a silverware organizer. This extra one was just taking up space in my kitchen, so I decided to put it to good use.
It is perfect for organizing my bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. The little pouches that you see contain my earrings or necklaces that get easily tangled.
I keep this tray in my closet, and it has saved me so much hassle in the morning! Plus, I’m saving the battery life on my phone. 🙂
If you are looking for a low cost way to organize your jewelry, you should definitely try the silverware tray method.
I’m off to ice skate on my driveway! 😉
